Chelsea: Why are they falling apart?

There is no doubt about it. Chelsea are falling apart at the moment. Who's fault is it though? What exactly has gone wrong for my beloved Blues?

Most will point to the sacking of Ray Wilkins but the truth is we were playing crap and getting away with it many weeks before Ray went but the lack of team spirit and effort in the last few games tells me there is something seriously wrong within the club.

Has Ancelotti lost the dressing room? The lack of effort does make me wonder and he doesn't seem to be inspiring the team. Some senior players are really letting us down. Drogba was a joke last night in France. Essien was invisible and Malouda wasn't much better either. Chelsea fans like to blame Saloman Kalou for every poor performance but at least he is consistantly bad while at least TRYING. Even Ramires tried. The sad thing was a 17 year old kid (Josh McEachran) was easily our best player. The rest of the cunts should be ashamed of themselves.

The squad is ridiciously thin this season and players haven't been properly replaced. We are really paying for this now. Injuries haven't helped especially with Lampard being out for so long but in previous years we had a half decent player to come in for an injured player. Now we haven't got that squad depth and its worrying.

And what about Abramovich? Does he care anymore or is he too interested in the 2018 World Cup? I really do begin to wonder if his heart is in it anymore. No wonder he is tightening the Chelsea purse strings if he is investing millions for building Russian stadiums.

Here is my prediction. Ancelotti will get the blame and will be sacked by mid January at the very latest. Chelsea will lose to Spurs on Sunday (it hurts me to even type that) and he might even be gone before the Man Utd game the following weekend. After Man Utd we have Arsenal away on the 27th and if we don't improve dramatically (which I see no sign of) then Carlo will be toast.

I see our chances of the title now as nil. Our chances of the top 4 slim and the Champions League? Don't make me laugh! Even Ipswich Town will be rubbing their fingers at the prospect of knocking us out of the FA Cup at Stamford Bridge in January.

How did it all go so wrong so quickly?

  1. i know how you feel longy. i don't expect anything from our christmas fixtures and there seems to be a malaise around the whole club.. something needs to happen, to let us see the "other side"..

  2. I don't know one single Chelsea fan who thinks we will win against Spurs Mark. That really is depressing! Must look on the bright side though - 10 more points will keep us up :)

  3. I'd love to rub salt in the wounds but I really don't think you're that bad, true you've had a dip in form and Lampard's long injury has shown how much you rely on him, Drogba is not firing at the moment but I'm sure at the end of the season you'll be top 2 and challenging.
Ancelotti does seem subdued since the Wilkins sacking and I haven't a clue what's going on behind the scenes but this is the same team that looked like world beaters only a few months back and I would expect them to start playing again soon.

  5. Is it a general malaise and lack of hunger, a lack of spirit in the dressing room, aging and thin squad or a combination of all these things. In some ways I'd like to gloat and predict the decline of the club but I just don't see it (not quite yet). Undoubtedly Lampard, Drogba and maybe even Terry's days are numbered and it is probably time to introduce a few young and more hungry players alongside McEachran.

Still think you'll emerge from the next three with a win a draw and a loss. No prizes for who I think you'll beat and who I think you'll lose to. Suffice to say Arsene won't be happy!

  6. I will delighted with 2 points from the next 3 games Mullers - I just don't see it happening unless the players get a rocket up their arses.

  7. i hate to admit it, but i'm actually relieved by today's result.. and then if we win next sunday, and then get another win, or settle for a draw at arsenal we can clean up the points through january be well back on track.. that's alright then. or am i in a dream world?

  8. Miss an injury time penalty at your most hated team that would of put back on top of the table........and it still feels like a win :)

Much improved today wasn't it Mark. Hopefully we can perform like this next week and beyond but I'm not holding my breath.

  13. Tough one to call Mullers! I'm glad you beat Arsenal as I'm a great believer in the law of averages so I don't think you'll beat us too in a week. However,I don't think you will get beaten either.

Chelsea 1 Utd 1 is my prediction
